EducationA national leader in clinical and laboratory instruction, the Department of Radiation Oncology equips individuals with the skills for lifelong learning and the framework for translating the latest research into patient care. As part of the division’s dynamic environment, all faculty members pursue their own research projects. The division challenges medical and graduate students, residents and postdoctoral fellows to explore their own interests through clinical and basic research while providing a solid foundation in cancer biology and care. Among the School’s most popular, the department’s clinical clerkships draws a large number of medical students each year, while a unique program allows those interested in cancer biology to pursue a joint MD/PhD degree. Combining interdisciplinary research and translation medicine, the residency and postdoctoral programs are recognized for training innovators in the field of radiation oncology. |
